FortPass — Password manager with 2FA

Self-hosted password manager with integrated 2FA authentication, sold as its own product.

01 · The challenge

The password manager market is dominated by closed SaaS that require blind trust: the user does not control where their credentials are stored. We wanted to offer a self-hosted, transparent and technically sound alternative.

02 · The solution

We built FortPass from scratch in PHP 8.4 + MySQL, with:

Password hashing with Argon2id (state of the art).
Two-factor authentication with TOTP, compatible with Google Authenticator / Authy / 1Password.
Administration panel to manage users, registrations and policies.
REST API for activation licenses remote.
Signed update system with one-time downloads.
