Configuration

Everything except database credentials lives in Admin → Settings (stored in the database, secrets encrypted). config.php holds only technical values written by the installer.

AI provider keys

Add these under Admin → Settings → API keys. Each tool uses what it needs; missing keys disable the tools that depend on them.

Tip: the avatar editor uses the provider’s own voices so audio and lip movement are generated together — tight sync, no humming. Pick a presenter and a voice in the tool. The Animate tool is billed as a fixed minute cost per clip, set under Settings → Animate (model + cost).

Security & consent toggles

Under Admin → Settings → General → Security:

Require email verification: when on, users must confirm their email before using the app.
Cookie banner: shows a cookie-consent notice linking to your cookie policy.

FFmpeg

Rendering requires FFmpeg on the server. The installer detects it; if it is not on the system PATH, set the absolute path in Admin → Settings. Typical locations:

Linux  : /usr/bin/ffmpeg
cPanel : /usr/local/bin/ffmpeg   (ask your host to enable it)
Windows: C:\ffmpeg\bin\ffmpeg.exe

Render-only tools are blocked with a clear message when FFmpeg is missing. The installer’s requirements step reports the detected version.

Mail (SMTP)

Configure SMTP under Admin → Settings → Email so the app can send verification, password-reset and “your video is ready” messages. The mail() transport works on some hosts but SMTP is strongly recommended for deliverability.

Branding, theme & languages

Theme: brand colour, light/dark default, logos and favicon (Settings → Theme).
Languages: Tokify ships English and Spanish. The default language can be fixed or set to Auto (browser detection).
PWA: name, colours and icon for the installable web app (Settings → PWA).
SEO: meta defaults, Open Graph image, sitemap and robots.txt are generated automatically.

config.php reference

Written by the installer; you rarely edit it. Key constants:

Constant	Meaning
`DB_HOST` / `DB_PORT` / `DB_NAME` / `DB_USER` / `DB_PASS`	Database connection.
`APP_KEY`	32-byte base64 encryption key (per install). Protects stored secrets — back it up.
`TOKIFY_VERSION`	Install-time version seed. The live version lives in `settings.app_version` and is bumped by the updater.
`LICENSE_PRODUCT_ID`	Fixed product id — do not change.
`TOKIFY_DEBUG`	Set the env var `TOKIFY_DEBUG=1` to show errors while diagnosing. Keep off in production.

Never share config.php. It contains your database password and encryption key.
