Docs / Installation

Installation

Upload the files, open /install and follow three steps. The wizard tests your database, writes config.php with a unique encryption key, creates the schema and your admin account.

Requirements

ComponentMinimumNotes
PHP8.2+ (8.4 recommended)Extensions: pdo_mysql, openssl, mbstring, curl, json. gd recommended.
MySQL / MariaDBMySQL 5.7+ / MariaDB 10.3+One empty database and a user that can create tables.
FFmpeg4.x+Required to render video. See Configuration.
Writable paths—config.php (project root), storage/, public/uploads/.
License: Tokify validates your purchase against Medel Platforms. Have your license key ready — you can paste it during step 3 or later in Admin → License & updates.

Step by step

  1. Upload & extract the release ZIP to your web root (or a subfolder such as /tokify). Point your domain or subdomain at the folder that contains index.php.
  2. Open https://your-domain/install. Step 1 checks PHP, extensions, FFmpeg and folder permissions. Fix anything marked ❌ before continuing.
  3. Database (step 2): enter host, port, database name, user and password, then Test connection. The installer creates the database if it does not exist.
  4. License & admin (step 3): paste your license key, set the app name and URL, and create the first admin (name, email, password).
  5. Install. The wizard writes config.php (your DB credentials + a freshly generated 32-byte APP_KEY), runs all migrations, seeds settings and creates the admin user.
  6. Delete the /install folder when the success screen appears, then log in at /login.
Important: the encryption key is generated per install and stored in config.php. It protects your stored API keys and OAuth tokens. Never copy config.php between installs, and keep a backup of it.

After installing

Subfolder vs. domain root

Tokify auto-detects its base path, so both https://example.com/ and https://example.com/tokify/ work. If you move the install, just update App URL in Admin → Settings.
